I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to VETS2INDUSTRY for the opportunity to speak at their recent event. You can view the event HERE.

During the session, I shared the concept of the Heroic Journey as a way of understanding major life transitions. Particularly, the transition many veterans face when moving from military service into civilian life. Drawing on mythology, recovery work, and decades in addiction medicine, I discussed how challenge, loss, and uncertainty are not signs of failure, but natural stages in a heroic path of growth. Just as in military service, no one completes this journey alone; meaning, resilience, and purpose are strengthened through community, humility, and service to others.

It is an honor to engage with a group so open, thoughtful, and committed to supporting one another through change. I’m deeply appreciative of the work VETS2INDUSTRY is doing to help veterans rediscover purpose and direction in the next chapter of their lives.
